Pigmentation
Includes: Melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, uneven pigmentation
Understanding Pigmentation
Hyperpigmentation occurs when patches of skin produce more melanin than the surrounding area, resulting in dark spots or uneven tone. Common causes include sun exposure, melasma (often hormonally driven), and post-inflammatory pigmentation following acne, eczema or injury.
Our Approach
Effective pigmentation treatment starts with an accurate diagnosis, since different causes of altered pigmentation require different forms of treatment. Dr Gupta's approach typically combines strict sun protection, topical and/or oral prescription treatment, with laser therapy chosen according to your pigmentation type and skin tone.
