Rosacea & Facial Redness

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic condition causing persistent facial redness, visible blood vessels and, in some cases, acne-like bumps, typically affecting the nose and cheeks.

Triggers & Causes

The exact cause isn't fully understood, but it's thought to be multifactorial, involving genetic susceptibility, alterations in the skin microbiome, and dysregulation of the immune system leading to inflammation and visible blood vessels. Common triggers include sun exposure, extreme temperatures, alcohol, spicy foods, psychological stress and tobacco.
