Before Your Appointment
Preparing for your first visit to Solara Dermatology helps us make the most of your consultation time.
Do I need a referral?
A valid referral from your GP or another specialist is required if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate for your dermatology consultation.
If you're booking a cosmetic or laser consultation, a referral is not required, although we're always happy to communicate with your GP or other healthcare providers where appropriate. Please note that cosmetic procedures and most laser treatments are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) patients require a valid referral for each consultation.
What to expect at your appointment
Your initial consultation includes a thorough discussion of your concerns and medical history, a comprehensive skin examination where appropriate, and time to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options. Dr Gupta will work with you to develop an individualised management plan, which may include medical treatment, laser therapy, procedural treatments or medical skincare, depending on your needs.
If you have multiple concerns, we recommend letting us know when booking your appointment. While every effort will be made to address your priorities, additional appointments may sometimes be required to ensure each concern receives the time and attention it deserves.
What to bring to your appointmnet
Please bring your referral letter (if applicable), Medicare card, a list of current medications, and any relevant previous test results or imaging.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Return your completed Patient Registration Form by email to admin@solaradermatology.com.au at least 2 days before your appointment.
Please remove any makeup prior to your consultation, so Dr Gupta can fully assess your skin fully.
It can help to write down any questions your might have in advance, so nothing gets missed during your consultation.
Fees & Payments
Patients are provided with anticipated fees by email ahead of each appointment. If you'd like to discuss fees in advance, please contact our reception team.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice, so we can offer the time to another patient.
As a courtesy to Dr Gupta and other patients waiting for an appointment, a fee of $100 may apply for cancellations or missed appointments made with less than 48 hours notice, except under exceptional circumstances.
